BANG, BANG, BANG! The sound of someone knocking on the door brings me instantly awake. I look around, grab the towel from the chair that I used to dry us after the shower, and wrap it around my waist.

Everything looks normal, except for one thing.

Cinderella is gone!

"Goddammit!" I shout and fling the door open. Todd Collins stands there looking like he isn't sure he should be. "Where is she?" I demand.

He shakes his head. "I don't know."

"What do you mean, you don't know?" I take a step toward him. "Toad! Tell me what happened. What do you know?" I swing the door open wide and invite him in.

"Listen, King. She's gone. She left with two women."

"Give me the details."

Toad describes what he saw returning to the hotel this morning after his five-mile run. "Two women were frog-marching your girl out the door. She didn't want to go, but she wasn't fighting either. So, I approached and asked her if everything was okay. She asked me to give you a message. She wants you to know she will never forget you. It didn't sit right with me, so I told her she should tell you herself. But then one of the women said she was sixteen and mentioned statutory rape. Man, I didn't know what to do. So, I made the guy at the front desk give me your room number and came straight up here to tell you."

I hang my head. "FUCK!" I look back at him. "Don't worry. She's not sixteen. She's twenty-one."

"Are you sure? She didn't argue."

"I'm sure." I tell him, "Did you see what kind of car they got in?"

"It was a silver QX60 Infinity. I'm not sure the year."

I hold my hand out, and he clasps it. "Thanks, brother. I owe you."

"I hope you find her, and I hope you don't go to jail over a girl."

I chuckle, "If I do, it'll be because I killed someone to get her back."

He smirks, "That good, huh?"

"Perfection." I open the door for him, and he walks out.

"The only easy day was yesterday," he tells me.

"Never out of the fight," I assure him.
